Blizzard’s commentary on WoW The Burning Crusade Classic Level Upgrade Service; Will only be available on new TBC realms

Blizzard commented on the new level boosting service that will be available when The Burning Crusade Classic launches.

It was last year when Blizzard noted these character increases don’t dovetail with World of Warcraft’s Classic server option, but for TBC Classic, Blizzard apparently hit a 180 as there will be an option for players to quickly start the action at level 58 .

Activision Blizzard sued by California for widespread discrimination and harassment

“Character boosts don’t agree with Classic”, executive producer AltruisWoW wrote last year when asked about it. “We don’t want to break any heart.”

As expected, this sparked quite a bit of controversy within the World of Warcraft Classic community. In an article on the official forums of The Burning Crusade Classic, community manager ‘Kaivax’ clarified the team’s decision to make the boost service available for the next classic version of the first World of Warcraft expansion.

As the Community Manager pointed out, the service will only be available on new The Burning Crusade Classic realms, while Classic Era realms will not have the boost available.

“I think it might be helpful to note that what we now call WoW Classic era realms start at level 1, and we feel the same as two years ago: no boost would ever be needed. (or appropriate) there “, Kaivax wrote. “When we initially set our principles for Classic WoW, Experience 1-60 was the only thing we could refer to.”

He continued, “Burning Crusade Classic starts at level 58, and we’re configuring this new Boost service to avoid minimizing achievements for existing players or skipping any new content at launch. This is for players who want a way to quickly reach their friends in Outland.

The Burning Crusade Classic will launch later this year. A release date has yet to be revealed. Blizzard announced the new Classic server option during BlizzConline last week.
