MCU theory may explain Doctor Strange’s behavior in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of Marvel’s most anticipated projects in 2022, so it’s no surprise that fan theories are rampant ahead of its May 6 release. However, one in particular seems to be gaining traction on Reddit. The theory comes from a user who bases his theory on Doctor Strange’s “off” behavior in Spider-Man: No Path Home.
In theory, this explains why Strange is probably struggling with “post-Blip depression.” Strange was one of the trillions captured by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. As a result, he missed five years of his life in what to him seemed like a matter of seconds. While the Blip seemed only seconds to Strange, the people closest to him were to move on with their lives for the next five years.
This includes the love of his life, Christine. In the preview for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we see Strange as a guest at a wedding where Christine is the bride. This means that she likely left Strange during the Blip, leaving Strange to return to find the love of his life with someone else. So, explain why Dr. Strange seems so “off” in Spider-Man: No Path Home.
This is likely the reason Strange will be traveling the multiverse in his next sequel. He attempts to change a timeline involving Christine, creating a rift in the multiverse. Check out the full theory for yourself below:

This is certainly a plausible theory, however, the official plot of the film is still unknown. All fans need to get out is the trailer that was originally released as a post-credit scene for Spider-Man: No Path Home. More plot details will be revealed as more trailers surface before May.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
