Old School RuneScape is coming to Steam in February

Chances are, if you were a fan of video games for the past 20 years, you were lucky enough to play RuneScape. One of the most popular PC games of the past two decades, RuneScape Captivated gamers by letting you join a massively multiplayer world with millions of other users to become a master.

RuneScape was originally released on January 4, 2001. Since the release of RuneScape in 2001, the game obviously went through a lot of changes and a host of updates. Any video game will experience updates at some point in order to improve itself and make the game much smoother to play. These updates are essential to keep the game up and running. These updates can come with new adventures and tasks for you to try out so you never run out of things to do.

Over the past 20 years, RuneScape has had tons of updates that have changed the game to make it a more modern experience for its users. There was nothing wrong with any of these updates, but at one point fans of the game wished there was a way to play the old-fashioned way. RuneScape to live. Indeed, the players made their wish come true in 2013.

In 2013, Jagex Ltd. has published Old School RuneScape. Old School RuneScape is the official Jagex term for a previous version of the RuneScape game that was introduced from a save of the RuneScape source code as it appeared on August 10, 2007.

Now the time has finally come for Old School RuneScape will be out on Steam on February 24, 2021. The best part about this announcement is that it will be completely free for anyone who wants to have a little nostalgia.

The reason Jagex decides to release the game on Steam is the 20th anniversary of RuneScape. You also don’t have to worry about losing your progress from the past. Whether you last played a week or 15 years ago, you will still be able to log in with your Steam account and pick up where you left off. It’s a sigh of relief as it prompts some old school players to return to the RuneScape grind.

Also, another key note about the game coming to Steam is that it will get the full “Steam Processing” meaning that the game will have achievements to try to acquire with the Steam Trading Cards a little after the launch.

Yes Old School RuneScape is something you’ve been a fan of and miss playing, now you have the chance to get back to where you left off. Call your friends, grab your gold coins and head to the Grand Exchange because Old School RuneScape will officially launch on Steam on February 24!
