You can now play Xbox games on Samsung TVs, console-free
As smart TVs get smarter, their hardware makes them better for game streaming, essentially turning them into gaming devices on their own, as long as you have the proper subscriptions.
That’s why 2022 Samsung smart TVs will be compatible with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, according to Microsoft. Just install the Xbox client app and sign in. Samsung and Microsoft had already worked to make the same 100+ games available to Galaxy phones, and this is an extension of that.
Microsoft is exploring similar deals with other TV makers, but there aren’t many details at this time. It’s worth noting that Samsung has more engineering resources to pull this off, while others might need some help from Microsoft to pull this off. But others will come.
The Xbox app is compatible with Xbox gamepads connected to the TV. Other brands of controllers can also work and the whole process is quite simple.
It’s great for those who rarely play because they just want to check out a few new games here and there. No doubt other TV makers will join Samsung in making Xbox games playable via streaming, and I hope gamers will love this new way to stream games.
